Ash Wednesday is the beginning of Lent. The historic focus of this day is to remind us of the pervasiveness of human sin and of the inevitability of human death. Ashes, the traditional sign of grief and mourning, have been adopted by Christians as a sign of our own sinful mortality. Our service on Ash Wednesday will remind us of our sinful mortality and the grace God offers in forgiveness and acceptance. In keeping with the mood of the day, the service will be quiet and reflective. The Sacrament of Holy Communion is part of the service. Please join us on February 10th for worship.

The Pine Grove UMW will meet on Saturday, December 12 at 9 a.m. in the McIntyre Lounge for a breakfast meeting. All women are invited to attend. There is no charge for the breakfast.
This breakfast will be a celebration of Christmas. You are invited to bring some cookies if you would like to share with those present. Everyone present will take home some cookies so if you can’t bring some, don’t let that stop you from attending. If you have a gift for the children at AUMS that you have not turned in, we will be accepting those.
Join us for a Christmas Carol Party on Sunday, December 13th at 4 PM. We are inviting the congregations at Trinity UMC, Emmaus UMC and AUMS to join us in this fellowship time.
We will start with a time of fellowship and refreshments. You are asked to bring a snack that can be eaten with fingers or toothpicks rather than silverware. Beverages will be provided. We will be sharing favorite Christmas memories and songs throughout the late afternoon before saying “shalom” to each other about 5:30 PM.
